2013 Youth Business Summit
Planning is now underway for the 2013 Virtual Enterprises International Youth Business Summit, which will be held in New York City on April 8-11, 2013.
The Youth Business Summit is the signature event of Virtual Enterprises International because it offers students multiple opportunities to show what they know. Through the Summit’s three major activities—the National Business Plan Competition, the Global Business Challenge, and the International Trade Show—students demonstrate their skills, knowledge and diverse talents in entrepreneurship, communications, computer technology, and global business management—key components of the VEI program. In the National Business Plan Competition, finalists from statewide business plan competitions will compete in a championship round for prizes to be awarded to team members and their programs. The top three national teams will be announced on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at the opening ceremony of the trade show.
In the Global Business Challenge, students are assigned to a multinational team, and are given several hours to solve a global business problem. Each team will analyze company data, identify relevant information for the assigned task, and prepare a business strategy to be presented to a distinguished panel of judges.
The International Trade Show is the signature activity of the Virtual Enterprises International practice firm program. It provides students with the opportunity to showcase and market the products and services of their virtual businesses as they engage in commerce with their local, national and international peers in a simulated global marketplace. Students will be able to compete in various competitions related to the event: Best Booth, Best Sales Pitch, Best Web Page and Best Catalog.
We look forward to welcoming you to New York City in April 2013 and hope that you will take advantage of the many cultural activities and sightseeing opportunities that await you in The Big Apple.
