Teams from NYC, Rochester, and Long Island gear up to represent their high school and New York at the national level. The 2012 National Business Plan Competition, one of the most prestigious and rigorous annual business plan competitions for public high school students,  is a three-day competition that challenges VEI students from across the country to demonstrate their global business expertise through written business plans and oral presentations.  The preliminary round will take place on March 27.  Six finalists will compete in the championship round on March 28 at the McGraw Hill Companies.

After achieving top honors in their regional business plan competitions, the following firms will advance to the National Business Plan Competition:

Long Island

Long Island Business Plan Competition
1st Place:  Cupcake Break from John F. Kennedy High School in Bellmore, NY

Rochester Region

Rochester Region Business Plan Competition
1st Place:  DevTech Dorms from Clarence High School in Clarence, NY

New York City

Citywide Business Plan Competition
1st Place:  Brandmark from Edward R. Murrow High School in Brooklyn, NY
2nd Place: Bon Voyage Travel from Fort Hamilton High School in Brooklyn, NY
3rd Place:  Solarity from New Dorp High School in Staten Island, NY

 

The annual Youth Business Summit, sponsored by the New York Life Foundation, brought together up-and-coming entrepreneurs from around the corner and across the globe.

On February 23, a group of twelve Virtual Enterprise students from New York City journeyed to Belgium to participate in the annual Belfair.

The results are in for the 2012 Ad Futures People’s Choice Voting.

The 2012 Ad Futures Competition paired VEI students with ad agencies and challenged them to develop an advertising campaign to decrease the unemployment rate for returning veterans.
