Joseph Delaney, Deloitte & Touche
“Mentoring the students throughout a school year in developing proposals and solving business problems related to the school’s VE business helps us to identify bright young people who have the talent, initiative and desire to enter a career in professional services, and groom the next generation of employees.”

Business partners play an integral role in helping shape the VE firm, the students, as well as the program at large. Business partners may:

  • provide advice and guidance to the students on various business issues during the implementation and development phase of the VE firm
  • provide samples of services, products, forms, policies, pricelists, catalogs, market research, etc., so students have models for their own enterprise
  • provide advice, guidance and in-kind contributions (display materials, sample products) in the development of a firm’s trade fair booth
  • provide mentoring and shadowing opportunities for students and teachers
  • host paid, professional internships
  • arrange field trips to their company
  • deliver student and/or teacher workshops
  • review and support VE curricula
  • serve as a judge at a VE competition

The following partners support VEI networks in New York City and across the United States. We owe them our gratitude for their commitment to helping young people make the transition from school to career and for helping to prepare the next generation of our workforce. This list includes corporate, post-secondary, government and not-for-profit supporters.

The annual Youth Business Summit, sponsored by the New York Life Foundation, brought together up-and-coming entrepreneurs from around the corner and across the globe.

On February 23, a group of twelve Virtual Enterprise students from New York City journeyed to Belgium to participate in the annual Belfair.

The results are in for the 2012 Ad Futures People’s Choice Voting.

The 2012 Ad Futures Competition paired VEI students with ad agencies and challenged them to develop an advertising campaign to decrease the unemployment rate for returning veterans.
