Orientation to Entrepreneurship/VE Program of Study/Project Management Disciplines (Teachers of Computer Applications, Entrepreneurship, and VE)
Thursday, June 10 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Location: DeVry Long Island City Campus, Queens

This session will focus on review of curriculum, strategies for implementation, expected program and student outcomes and assessments for the entire VE/Entrepreneurship Sequence. Participants will also learn how to develop the necessary documentation for SED program approval. In addition, teachers will learn project-management disciplines that can be used in the classroom to facilitate VE tasks and activities. Materials will be distributed.

Creating and customizing websites for VE
Thursday, June 10 to 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Location: DeVry Long Island City Campus, Queens
Breakfast and lunch will be served.

This session will focus on creating a basic webpage and using and customizing templates for the VE. This course will be useful for those schools in which Webpage instruction is not provided as an underlying course or where students have limited expertise in Webpage design.

Methods of Facilitating a Virtual Enterprise (New VE Coordinators)
Monday, August 23, Tuesday, August 24 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Location: Urban Assembly School for Young Women, 29 Broadway, New York City

This workshop for VE coordinators will focus on the methods of facilitating a Virtual Enterprise. Teachers will learn strategies for making the transition from "sage on the stage" to "guide on the side." Participants will receive the curriculum materials to assist in the implementation and development of their VE program of study.

Developing a Business Plan (for Entrepreneurship and VE Coordinators)
Wednesday, August 25, 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Location: Deloitte & Touche, 2 World Financial Center, New York City

Deloitte & Touche professionals will provide this workshop in a morning session, which will identify the essential components of a business plan and include strategies that VE students can use to write an effective plan. Participants will learn about the relationship between the business plan and annual report.

The afternoon session will focus on the annual report and strategies to implement an effective accounting system. Materials will be distributed.

It's All About Economics: Aligning Economics with VE Activities (for VE Coordinators)

New York City, the Empire Room, 22nd Floor.

This workshop will on focus on strategies for integrating economic concepts from the new State Economics Syllabus and Economics for the Virtual Enterprise curriculum into the day-to-day activities of the Virtual Enterprise experience. A copy of the Economics for the Virtual Enterprise curriculum will be distributed.

Developing Financial Literacy through the VEC Bank, Stock Market Game, and other VE Activities (for all teachers in the VE sequence)
Friday, August 27, 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Location: SIFMA Foundation for Investor Education, 120 Broadway, New York City

Participants will learn to integrate financial literacy concepts including credit, investing, simple and compound interest, loan amortization and foreign currency conversion through the use of the U.S. Networks online banking system.

The session will include a brief review of a Personal Financial Literacy Program, the Career and Financial Management Curriculum and the Stock Market Game and provide strategies for integrating these concepts and activities into the Virtual Enterprise class.
