[NYC] William Cullen Bryant Coordinators Recognized as NYC’s 2014 Teachers of the Year

Ms. Soteria Stavroulakis and Mr. Andy Horowitz, coordinators for William Cullen Bryant High School’s VEI firms Majestique and Footprint, are the 2014 New York City Teachers of the Year. They receive the distinct recognition for years of consistently guiding their students and firms toward strong performances and for their commitment and dedication in applying the Virtual Enterprise model to the highest standards.

Meet the Teachers

soteria Ms. Stavroulakis has a Master’s degree in Secondary Business Education from Hofstra University and a Bachelor’s degree in International Business & Finance from Fordham University, with corporate experience as a Tax Specialist at KPMG, a Big Four Accounting Firm. Regarding her transition from corporate to classroom, Ms. Stavroulakis said, “I decided to make a career switch to teaching Business Education, and have been fortunate to teach business classes and Virtual Enterprise at William Cullen Bryant High School where our success has been very rewarding.”

andy Mr. Horowitz has an MBA in Investment Management from Pace University and has corporate banking experience working in global treasury and U.S. consumer credit departments with Citibank. Grateful for the opportunity to share his real world knowledge, Mr. Horowitz said, “Fortunately, the VEI program at Bryant began at the same time as I did and I knew right away that it would be a great chance to teach students about the skills, functions, and knowledge that are critical to success of both employees and businesses.”
