Unlimited Potential (UP), a new mentoring initiative launched by Viacommunity–Viacom’s social responsibility umbrella–will provide promising high school students worldwide with the opportunity to gain exposure to the media industry. UP’s mission is to provide mentoring to high school students who have both the greatest potential and need that will enable them to develop a solid understanding of the media and entertainment industry. Through their participation in the program, UP students will establish mentoring and collegial relationships that span high school, college, and their entry into the workforce.

Viacom selected VEI to pilot the program since it paves the way for Viacom staff to share their talents, core business skills and experience in the media industry (skills-based volunteerism) with students who are running a media business. Beginning this fall, Viacom mentors will be working with students from T-Squared, the VEI media and entertainment business located at Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis HS in Manhattan.

Stay tuned for more information about this exciting endeavor!
