SUMMARY:2025 Southern Region Firms Promotional Week - Submission Scoring
DESCRIPTION:Event Description: Southern Regional Promotional Week is an engaging weeklong experience where students across the Southern region take part in interactive business activities designed to strengthen their skills in sales\, marketing\, and entrepreneurship. Guided by a VE Promotional Week Bingo Card\, students will complete a series of tasks that simulate real-world business operations. \nActivities include registering for the Online Trade Show\, completing trainings on trade show etiquette and the sales process\, setting up e-commerce websites\, running pre-sales\, and managing digital marketing through email and social media competitions. Additional highlights include the Banner Ad Competition\, a T-Shirt Design Competition\, with the winning design featured and sold at the Southern Region Competition & Exhibition and the SR Online Trade Show\, where firms will present their products live\, analyze competitors\, and explore emerging trends in the VE economy. \nJudge Needs: \nWe are currently seeking guest shoppers to join us for the Online Trade Show on December 4th\, where students will engage in live Zoom sales sessions. We are also in need of asynchronous judges to evaluate student submissions for various competitions between December 15 and January 9 on the VE Competition Manager. Your participation will support students’ growth and add valuable authenticity to their experiences.

Volunteers can choose to participate in one or more of the following competitions: \n1. Business Plan Competition\nThe Business Plan Competition challenges student teams to develop\, present\, and defend a comprehensive business plan. Judges play a vital role in evaluating both the written and live components of the competition. \nBusiness Overview Document \nReview and score each team’s 4-page overview\, which will be shared prior to the event. Judges are encouraged to complete scoring in advance\, but time will be provided on the event day if needed. \nLive Business Plan Presentations \nObserve student presentations during the competition.\nEngage in a Q&A session with each team.\nScore presentations using the provided VE rubric. \n2. Sales Pitch Competition (Trade Show)\nStudent representatives deliver quick\, persuasive pitches to highlight their company’s product or service. Judges will: Listen to live pitches at the Trade Show.\nEvaluate presentation skills\, clarity\, and persuasiveness.\nProvide scores based on the competition rubric. \n3. Booth Design Competition (Trade Show)\nCompanies showcase their products and services through interactive trade show booths. Judges will: Visit booths on the Trade Show floor.\nAssess creativity\, professionalism\, and effectiveness of booth displays.\nProvide scores using the competition rubric.
