Adam Yafei, Class of 2007
Adam Yafei attended Fort Hamilton High School in Brooklyn, New York, where he participated in VE and served as the Chief Financial Officer of his VE business. Through financial adversity, family loss, and other challenges, Adam learned the importance of hard work, persistence, and living life to the fullest.
Now an Audit Senior at Deloitte & Touche LLP, Adam credits his participation in VE and his Business Plan Presentation team as the catalyst for pursuing his current career with Deloitte. Adam currently mentors VE students, passing along the same kind of support and knowledge that he received during his years in the program.
Cesar Gonzalez, Class of 2000
Cesar Gonzalez serves as the VP Corporate Development of Mako Mining Corp. Previously, Cesar served as the VP Corporate Development and a Director of Marlin Gold Mining Ltd. through the construction and commissioning of the La Trinidad gold mine, the spinout of Sailfish Royalty Corp. and the acquisition of Marlin by Golden Reign Resources Ltd. to form Mako. He also serves as the CEO and a Director of Sailfish, the Chairman of the Board at Bonterra Resources Inc. and as a consultant at Wexford Capital LP. Previously, he worked at Lehman Brothers as an Associate in the Private Equity Group where he focused on investments in energy master limited partnerships. Cesar graduated from the University of Southern California with a B.S. in Business Administration.
Leilah Doran, Class of 2018
Leilah is a student at the University of California, Davis, majoring in Design in hopes of becoming a Graphic Designer and using those skills to help others in need by bringing creative awareness. Leilah was honored at the 2019 VE Gala as the recipient of the Joe Delaney Alumni Award.
