VE Students Showcase and Compete at the Long Island Business Plan Competition & Trade Show

On January 9th-10th, 2024, over 3,000 students from 100+ high schools participated in the Long Island Business Plan Competition & Trade Show! After working on their firms for months, VE students were finally able to exhibit their ideas!  At the Pratt Recreation Center at Long Island University Post, students showcased their businesses and interacted with one another to buy and sell their products/services. The hall was buzzing with excitement and lined up with various trade show booths, ranging from customizable hair products (Hairvana, Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK HS) and technological dog collars (DogGo, Smithtown HS East).

Simultaneously on the LIU Campus, the Business Plan Competition took place across various classrooms. There, each VE firm had the opportunity to pitch their innovative business idea to a judging panel of industry experts.

It was an exciting two days and gave the students a chance to tour the campus as well.

Congratulations to the Top 40 finalists who advanced to the next round in February. The top 10 will then go on to Nationals in NYC at YBS in April.

Special thanks to Long Island University for hosting this event and all the judges who helped make it happen.
