Almost 4800 attendees from around the nation and across the globe converged in New York City to take part in the 23rd annual Youth Business Summit. This year’s 2024 YBS was the largest to date and represented over 250 firms.
YBS is a culmination of a yearlong program. Throughout the school year, the VE student firms participate in regional competitions to pitch and sharpen their Business, HR, Marketing and Finance plans to lead up to the nationals at YBS. The Youth Business Summit provides students with the opportunity to compete further and showcase their trade booths as well. Seasoned industry professionals and business educators volunteered as judges for each competition.
This year’s competitions included the prestigious National Business Plan Competition, National Finance Competition, National Human Resources Competition, National Marketing Competition, HSBC Global Innovation Challenge and 2 new competitions: Financial Literacy Challenge sponsored by Osaic with support from Cross River and the Rapid Prototyping Challenge.
The Global Innovation Challenge and Rapid Prototyping allowed individual students to work with other students from around the world for a truly multi-cultural process and develop solutions.
