NEW YORK, April 16, 2026 — More than 4,000 student entrepreneurs from across the U.S. and around the world will gather in New York City from April 21–23 for the Youth Business Summit (YBS), the premier annual event hosted by Virtual Enterprises International (VE). YBS is the nation’s largest showcase of student-run businesses, where middle and high school students demonstrate the entrepreneurial, business, and leadership skills they’ve developed throughout the school year. The 2026 Summit is made possible through the generous support of the New York Life Foundation, serving as Title Sponsor.

Over three days, students will compete in national business competitions, participate in leadership and networking experiences, and culminate their work at an international trade exhibition at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. “These students are not just learning about business—they are building and leading companies,” said John Widlund, President of Virtual Enterprises International. “Each year, they raise the bar, and we are proud to showcase their innovation and drive on such an iconic stage.”

“Programs like the Youth Business Summit help young people build the confidence, skills, and sense of possibility they need to navigate a rapidly changing world,” said Heather Nesle, President of the New York Life Foundation. “We’re proud to support VEI and all of the coaches and mentors that empower students to lead with purpose and shape brighter futures for themselves and their communities.”

Throughout the year, VE students create and manage businesses that mirror real-world industries, gaining hands-on experience in entrepreneurship, collaboration, and leadership. Many advance through regional events to earn a place at the national Summit.

The event concludes on April 23 with an international trade exhibition at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, where students showcase their businesses in a dynamic, real-world marketplace environment.
