A Day of Mentoring from Inspiring Women
The VE Winning Women Leadership Conference held November 20, 2023, and hosted and sponsored by Mastercard at the Mastercard Tech Hub, brought together over 100 VE high school and middle school women and their educators from the New York City and Long Island regions for a one-of-a-kind experience. VE Founder Iris Blanc kicked off the conference, “We are so excited to continue this partnership with Mastercard. To be able to provide the VE students with the opportunity to interact with successful business leaders enriches your experiences further!”.
The day began with a tour of the Mastercard Tech Hub followed by leadership coaching sessions presented by our host, Carol Anne Riddell of CUNY TV. Our vibrant panel discussion with dynamic female business leaders touched on topics ranging from personal brand to financial empowerment. The speakers also shared the importance of email and video etiquette and communication skills which are so important in today’s business world.
The gathering then segued into mentoring roundtable discussions with industry professionals working separately with each table of students to tackle some of the subjects previously discussed and allowed students to share key takeaways with the group.
VE extends a special thank you to all our mentors and panelists from Mastercard as well as the talented educators who interact with students in their VE classrooms each day. Ali Shama, VE President, also expressed his gratitude to the mentors and panelists who serve as role models for our students and to Mastercard for providing this incredible opportunity to our future business leaders and entrepreneurs.
